CrossFlight's Mission and Vision is to become the US and Industry leader in delivering premier Aerial Inspections, UAS Training, and Consulting services. We strive to educate and train students to safely and efficiently operate and understand the capabilities and limitations of commercial drones. We desire to introduce a younger generation to drones through industry leading STEM education in High Schools and using drones as a resource for enhancing student learning and exposure to careers in aviation, robotics, communications, and other technical fields.

Jerry Whittaker

Jerry is a FAA Certified UAS Drone Pilot and founder. Jerry has 35 + years of aviation experience working with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the United States Navy.  He has extensive experience leading and managing teams of aviation professionals and systems engineering teams to develop and implement complex technical solutions. He is a leading expert with Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Air Traffic Control and Systems Engineering. Jerry served as an FAA Air Traffic controller for 26 years and participating on several aviation industry working groups advancing Air Traffic Management (ATM) concepts and technology standards.

Justin Robinson

Justin Robinson comes to CrossFlight with a variety of business, engineering, and teaching experiences. He has been a long time entrepreneur and has a passion for changing the way education is taught by helping to create lifelong learners able to thrive using all of the resources around them. Justin sold his landscape design and construction business at the age of 26 and began his teaching career. He has been teaching high school engineering for the past 10 years. He also wrote the curriculum for a mechanical design course for the South Carolina Virtual School. Justin’s goal is to continue helping students of all ages through an educational consulting business by working with teachers, helping connect businesses with schools, and grow the understanding of a true STEM Education. Justin is excited to partner with CrossFlight to deliver the best drone curriculum and teacher training to students around the world.


dIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATIon

Mark Howard

Mark joins CrossFlight as our Director of Administration which means he is here to work for you and he is going to keep all of us organized and moving in lock step. He is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran with over 30 years of providing support to, and leading many different types of teams in multiple environments worldwide. Mark is passionate about building positive relationships and providing outstanding support to our customers and team. Mark was recently accepted to Winthrop University's graduate program and will begin working toward an MBA in Strategic Leadership in the fall of 2018.






Flight Operations- Lead Pilot

Benjamin Martinez

Benjamin is serving as lead FAA certified UAS Pilot. He is a United States Air Force Veteran who served in foreign combat zones. He is a highly experienced drone pilot with experience with filing waivers and complex missions. He is an expert is aerial imaging and photography and various mission planning tools and software. He served for 2 1/2 years as a Savannah Police officer and has a Associates Degree in Aviation Information Technology. He is leading mission planning and photogrammetry and surveying support. He also will be supporting sales and marketing efforts for CrossFlight. We are excited to have Benjamin as a key member of the CrossFlight team. 






Director of Engineering & Tower Inspections

Cary (CB) Gaffney

Cary (C.B.) is our Director of Engineering, an FCC Licensed Broadcast Engineer.  He has nearly 40 years of technical experience in multiple Disciplines of Engineering; including Broadcast, Electrical and Electronics, Structural, and Civil.  Cary has extensive experience with Towers, RF Signal Propagation and Antennas, Private and Municipal Project Management and Site Management, and Geographical Information Systems (GIS).  He has managed multiple Municipal projects based upon Aerial Imaging and Aerial Thermal Imaging data. His training and certifications include Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Incident Management System and South Carolina DHEC Inspector roles. Cary has worked at Palmetto Electric Cooperative, the Town of Hilton Head Island, and as the Chief Engineer of many AM and FM Radio Groups in South Carolina and Georgia.


Private Pilot & FAA CeRTIFIED UAS Pilot

Justin Clemmer

Justin is a Private Pilot and Aviation Analyst, he is a current FAA Certified Private Pilot and UAS Pilot. He recently graduated from USCB with honors studying business and marketing. He was the president of the USCB Chapter of  the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). He will be working with clients and marketing as well as developing Pilot related Safety Procedures for our UAS Pilots. He is aspiring to become a Commercial Airline Pilot, working towards his Instrument Flight ratings. Justin is working on sales and marketing and client delivery and production.
